Evaluation of my Preliminary Magazine

Front cover

The magazine that I made shares the same sort of structure as a typical magazine. With the master head at the top of the cover in big easy to read writing. Which I researched while in development of the cover. The reason that I have something like this is because people will often recognize this layout and make it familiar to the audience(sixth formers). It is the same with the color scheme, the color scheme of the magazine is of the main colors that the school now uses (black, blue, white) and placed them into appropriate places on the cover to make it more appealing to the audience.

The picture that have used was used because it was a good picture to lay the text and the master head onto. It was perfectly laid out for the structure that I wanted to take.

The key theme of the magazine is to make the sixth form part of the school look smart, fun and interesting to the rest of the school, not just the sixth form area. Also the parents that see this magazine will see this.

In-tensions of the magazine would be that it would be sold to the people of Biddulph through high street shops.  Also sold to the lower school. But for the sixth formers it would be free.

The audience of the magazine would be for the parent and the sixth formers however other people may want to read it such as other people thinking about either working or coming to be part of the sixth formers. The magazine layout and in a modern layout which shows to the audience

The contents page that I made takes the common look of a contents page. Giving the master head image, page numbers and names and a picture to on the background of the contents page. I also did research on other school contents pages and took some of the best looking ones and the ones that give the best impression and also shows what page it what. The audience that I am targeting for magazine is parents and pupils aged from 14+ as it would be the age when they would start thinking about where it goes. I tried to make the magazine recognizable to all of my target audience I wanted it look very modern and  attractive to them as it will help the magazine sell.I have learnt that the type of photo you use for a page affects the audience that you attract. So I have used the same model in the contents page he would represent the key themes that I am going for.
